About Us

Makó Micro-Press is a mode of relationship or “ugnayan”—in the form of a self-publishing micro-press presswhich aims to create and sustain counter-hegemonic cultures through zines and other DIY (Do-It-Yourself) artwork.

Makó” is shorthand for “manlalakó” (street vendor) because we display and sell our works in both physical and digital events, gatherings, and spaces. We seek to create transformative connections and build solidarities, hoping and persisting that through our works, urgent discourses can be made about issues that are otherwise dismissed.
